Scholarships for NCC Cadets

     Applications are invited from meritorious NCC Cadets for award of Scholarship. The application forms are available with NCC Units. Cadets should apply through their respective NCC Units. Last date of receipt of application at respective NCC Units is a date of September.

Eligibility:

     Junior Division/Wing: Should have passed 10 th Standard or equivalent with 65% marks and should have undergone two years of NCC Training continuously with 80% attendance.
    Senior Division/Wing: Should have passed Intermediate or Senior 65% and 55% marks in aggregate for Science and Arts/Commerce streams respectively and should have undergone training in NCC as SD/SW Cadets for at least two full years continuously with 80% attendance. The Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) applicants will be given relaxation by 5%. The OBC candidates will be required to attach a certificate with the application. SAHARA SCHOLARSHIP

A) JUNIOR DIVISION/WING :

     Scholarship for cadets passing Class X examination and fulfilling the laid down eligibility criteria. Two scholarhip of Rs 5000/- each for one year will be awarded to JD and JW cadets per NCC Group. Total number of scholarhips will be 368.

B) SENIOR DIVISION/WING :

    scholarships for cadets passing 10 + 2 or equivalent examination admitted in regular graduation courses recognized by the UGC viz BA B Sc, B Com, BCA, BBA and fulfilling laid down eligibility criteria. Two scholarships of Rs 15,000/- each for one year will be awarded to SD and SW cadets per NCC Group. Total number of scholarships will be 368.

C) HIGHER STUDIES :

    Scholarships for cadets passing 10 + 2 or equivalent examination admitted in professional courses recognized by the Government and UGC viz Engineering, Medical, Business Administration, Hotel Management etc and fulfilling the laid down eligibility critieria. Sixty six scholarships of Rs 40,000/- each will be awarded for one year common for Boys and Girls. Distribution of these scholarships between various States and Union Territories will be based on the number of NCC Groups per State/ UT.

Tamil Nadu Government Scholarships

(a) Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission while selecting candidates to the post in Civil Services which are under its purview takes into consideration, the NCC Certificates possessed by the candidate.

(b) Out of 12 marks for the oral test in the B.T. and P.G. Assistants recruitment/appointment in Tamil Nadu, ½ mark is awarded for NCC activities Scholarships, Medals, Mementoes, Cash Awards, Certificates, Etc..

(a) Scholarship to 80 SD/SW NCC Cadets @ Rs.1200/- per annum (i.e., @ Rs.100/- per month for 12 months) and to 90 JD/JW NCC Cadets @ Rs.600/- per annum (i.e., @ Rs.50/- per month for 12 months) respectively..

(b) Cash Incentives and Medals: Rs.3,17,200/- per annum have been sanctioned towards Cash Incentives and Medals for NCC Cadets as under: State Level Best Cadets each in 6 Divisions:.

First - Gold Medal and Rs.3000/-
Second - Silver Medal and Rs.2000/-
Third - Bronze Medal and Rs.1000/-

National Level Best Cadets each in three Groups
First - Rs.5000/-
Second - Rs.3000/-
Third - Rs.2000/-
Individual Sports events : National Level:
First - Rs.1000/-
Second - Rs.600/-
Third - Rs.400/-
Group Sports Events (Team) : National Level:
